Student IT @ 24-hr Lab

Opening of new student computing facilities in Eastern Precinct | Closure of 24x7 facility in CSHE Building

The new Frank Tate Learning Centre opened on Monday 8 September. This Centre and the new Student IT facility on level one of the Eastern Resource Centre provide improved student access to new computers, a faster wireless network, and collaborative learning spaces. Both areas opened on Monday 22 September.

The 24x7 student computing facility in the CSHE Building closed on Friday 10 October, and the building was refurbished for the Graduate School of Education.

The student computers in the CSHE Building have been very heavily utilised by students for the past three years. They are about to reach the end of their warranty period, and would normally be withdrawn from service. The Student IT team are conscious of student computing needs, and are assessing the feasibility of re-locating some of these older computers to some campus libraries for student use.
