Location Ground floor, Building 161, Monash Road
This is an interim facility that will be replaced by a more modern environment, currently in construction, in the Tate Learning Centre and level 1 of the Education Resource Centre. This new facility will be launched during Semester 2, 2008.

Student IT provides both colour and black and white printing. Black and white print jobs can be collected from the printers in the labs. Colour print jobs can be collected at the colour printer inside Lab 2.

  • Black and white printing: 10c per A4 page
  • Colour printing: $1 per A4 page and $2 per A3 page

 

Printing Card

Your Student Card acts as a print card too. You can recharge it from the vending machine (big gray one) located in Lab 2.
The card is not refundable or redeemable for case. Do not charge with more credit than you need.

Printing in Colour

Ensure you have sufficient funds on your Student Card (= acts as print card)

To add credit to the print card:
Insert the card into the card dispenser and deposit coins or notes (Note: Unicard card dispenser does not issue change). When sufficient funds are deposited press the 'Push to eject card' option. Select the 'Receipt' option if you wish to have a record of your transaction.

Send the document to the printer through your computer by selecting File and then Print from the Menu Bar.

When the Print dialogue box is displayed, select the appropriate printer from the Printer Name drop-down box:

Lab 1 - select Scylla
Lab 2 - select Medusa

Press OK

 

Send the document to the colour laser printer through your computer by selecting File and then Print from the Menu Bar.

When the Print dialogue box is displayed, select SIT-COLOR from the Printer Name drop-down box.

Press OK

Release the work from the Print queue from the Print Release Stations:

Lab 1 - located next to the door
Lab 2 - located in the centre of the room

On the Print Release Station double click the name of the printer you sent your work to. A list of documents that have been sent to this printer will appear. Look for your username and double click on it. Details of the print job will appear, make sure that the costs associated with the print job correspond to the number of pages you want to print. Insert your Unicard and press the OK button when it is active. This releases the print job and deducts the required amount from your Unicard.

 

Release the work from the Print queue from the Print Release Station located inside Lab 1 (one) - next to the door (it has colored stars and circles stuck on its monitor).

A list of documents that have been sent to this printer will appear. Look for your username and double click on it. Details of the print job will appear, make sure that the costs associated with the print job correspond to the number of pages you want to print. Insert your Unicard and press the OK button when it is active. This releases the print job and deducts the required amount from your Unicard.

Collect your print job from the printer you sent it to.

  Collect your print job from the color printer located inside Lab 2 (two) - third printer from the door.
