Computers for Students with Disabilities

The University provides adaptive information technology on campus for students with disabilities. This technology includes both software and hardware to enable students to access, use, and submit academic and administrative information.

This technology includes such things as:

Much of this technology is currently housed in the Baillieu Library and can be accessed through referral from the Disability Liaison Unit. The Graduate Research and some Faculty Computer Laboratories also provide some of this technology.

Training in the use of this technology is not available through the University. Students are requested to obtain such training externally, prior to using the technology.

Library Services for Students with Disabilities

 

Assistive Technology Rooms in Baillieu Library are designed to assist student with disabilities in literature searching, writing up assignments and completing associated tasks that cannot be performed at a standard computer available in the library.
In addition to above software these rooms also have special equipment.

Reference Service and Consultations

Staff at the Information Desks will provide assistance to users requiring general help with locating materials and research. Students with special needs should contact the relevant library staff member to make an appointment for special consultations.
